Kenosha Christmas Charities, Inc. (Goodfellows) is committed to serving children in the Kenosha County area who are in need during the holiday season, by raising funds through donations and an annual event.
Those funds are used to purchase winter garments, toys and food cards to distribute to children through a consortium of local social agencies (The Holiday House).
We are committed to reach every needy child in Kenosha County each winter to provide the following:
- Provide them with needed winter outer garments like coats, mittens, gloves, hats and scarfs.
- To give toys to families with children who cannot afford to purchase them for the upcoming holiday season.
- To distribute food cards to families who need food to enjoy a holiday meal with their children.
How we do it:
We engage the greater Kenosha County Community by asking individuals, businesses and organizations for donations. Merchandise and services that are donated will be auctioned or raffled off at our annual fundraising dinner event in early December. (Last year the successful event was held on December 10th.)
The funds are used to purchase Coats and other outer garments, Toys and Food Cards. The Goodfellows oversee the registration of families of children in need and the distribution of these items through a consortium of local agencies, called “The Holiday House” which is administered by the Goodwill Industries of Southeast Wisconsin.
The Goodfellows have a commitment to the donors to make sure that all donations are used for the purpose of serving the children in need. We pride ourselves in having a organization that has a program that is an efficient, effective and accountable way to spread the hope, joy and spirit of the holiday season to children in need.
